‘The Butterfly Effect’

RSPOP—UK’s

8-DAY STUDENT INTENSIVE

with 2 days of supervision

Text Box: The basic idea of the ‘Butterfly Effect’ is “sensitivity to initial conditions”. The ‘awareness of almost nothing’ can change our life and world, our perspective instantly; the willingness to explore the unexpected and seemingly chaotic changes everything! ‘Chaos” involves an understanding of systems theory, particularly evolving systems and the application to personal, relationship and group work. Understanding systems is essential to intervene from a process oriented perspective whether the system is seemingly steady or in crisis . It is also at the root of creativity and the relationship between Inner Work and Worldwork, the personal and the political. There will also be two days of intensive practice supervision incorporated into the seminar.

Over a glass of wine, one evening,  at last year’s Student Intensive, several people had a lively dreaming session  that we might have this year’s Intensive  in the mountains… So we (Arlene and Jean-Claude) went on a kind of treasure hunt and found a treasure!  The setting is Les Granges, a small Swiss mountain hamlet at 1650 m in the Walliser Mountains of western Switzerland

We look forward to being together and learning together there. This is the third annual ‘Student Intensive’ . Originally inspired by a group of UK students, it has been attended by Students from Europe and internationally.  It has been an amazing learning experience for all who have attended. This year, in addition to students registered in Diploma Programmes, we will also welcome some non-registered ‘students’ who have been consistently engaged in learning  Process Work over the last years.

This year’s theme is ‘The Butterfly Effect’ and we will focus on the various ways to understand Process Work ideas in relation to Chaos Theory. The agenda is also co-created by discussions among students several months before the event. If you’d like to be part of the discussion, please join the e-group once you have registered with Stanya, our assistant. The focus is study oriented and meant to support students in their personal development, in their skills and meta-skills and eldership. English spoken.
