Process Acting

Using Process Work, Arlene developed and applied these methods to teach and coach actors, as well as for directing and devising (Audergon A. 1994). She also developed these methods with musicians, singers, dancers, improvisers, and puppeteers. The methods support the artist or performer to stay in touch with his or her perception, experience and most of all the unexpected or unknown signals, which are doorways into exciting work.

The methods have been incredibly useful to actors and directors during role development, in developing deeper interaction between characters, in studying and developing your relationship to a story or script as an individual or company, in the devising process, directing, and in developing ways to keep performance fresh.
